Growth rate of U.S. residential real estate becomes strongest since 2013

The total cost of all residential buildings in the U.S. in 2017 grew by 6.5%, or $2 trillion to $31.8 trillion, according to a study conducted by Zillow, the leading online service for the sale and rental of housing.

Nevertheless, property prices climbed weaker than other assets - in particular, the Standard & Poor's 500 stock index increased by almost 20%.

The most expensive city in the U.S. was Los Angeles - the cost of homes here reached $ 2.7 trillion, an increase of 5.7%. In New York, residential property rose by 7.9% to $ 2.6 trillion.
