IKEA could start small shops in UK city centers

Ikea, Sweden’s furniture designing and retailing company, prepares to launch a program of smaller shops in city centers as its first try in British capital was successful.

The London project was try-and-see approach but the good feedback suggests this could be scaled further to other cities of the country, said Javier Quinones of the UK branch.

The idea implies that customers will be able to view products and build their design plans in a city outlet, with no need to drive to suburb stores. The furniture company thus looks to grow in the country as its UK profits rise this year again.
