The IMF has upgraded its global economic growth outlook for 2017 by 0.1 percentage points to 3.6 percent, and to 3.7 percent for 2018.
The growth outlook in the United States remained at 2.2 percent for this year and 2.3 percent in 2018.
Economic growth in the euro area was upgraded from the July forecast by 0.2 percentage points for both 2017 and 2018 to 2.1 percent and 1.9 percent respectively.
The IMF's forecast for the UK was unchanged from its July report. It expects growth to slow from 1.8% in 2016 to 1.7% this year and to 1.5% in 2018.
