Kaspersky Lab has launched an initiative on the information transparency (Global Transparency Initiative) in an attempt to dispel allegations that the Russian government uses the antivirus programs to conduct espionage. The company will provide the source code of its products for review by independent experts.
Kaspersky Lab expects to involve experts in cybersecurity in order to verify the integrity and reliability of the software products, as well as its internal processes and business operations.
At the initial stage - until the end of the first quarter of 2018 - it is planned to conduct an independent review of Kaspersky’s source code.
In addition, Kaspersky Lab plans to open three "centers of transparency" around the world to address any issues in the field of cybersecurity in conjunction with customers, partners and government agencies.
