Pound climbs, euro inches down ahead of Brexit deal

The pound inched up while the euro dipped on Friday, as investors focused on possible Brexit deal between the UK and the EU.

The British currency ticked up 0.3 percent to $1.3512, retreating from its overnight trough of $1.3320.

The euro slipped 0.1 percent to $1.1761, near its trough since Nov. 22. It was on course to slide 1.1 percent for the week.

The dollar index rose 93.830 .DXY, on track for a weekly rise of 1 percent.
