Pound sinks ahead of final reading of UK economic growth

The pound eased on Friday as traders focused on final reading of U.K. GDP for the third quarter and avoid big positions in a holiday-shortened session.

Sterling was 0.1 percent lower versus the dollar at $1.336, while it was unchanged against the euro at 88.67 pence.

During complicated talks to seal UK's departure from the European Union next year the pound was under pressure in December, although it is still advancing in the last two months.

Some investors consider sterling will rally in 2018 if the government arranges a Brexit transition settlement.
