Pound slides from two-month peak on Irish border concerns

The pound sank from a two-month peak versus the dollar on Friday, getting only a limited support from solid UK manufacturing figures, as traders were worried over UK's possibility to reach a deal with the EU over the Irish border issue.

Sterling dipped to $1.3489, losing 0.3 percent on the day, though still on track for more than 1 percent weekly increase.

Versus the euro, the pound slumped 0.3 percent to 88.24 pence.
