Rate of global dividend growth increases in the second quarter

The rate of global dividend growth rose in the second quarter of 2017 due to the recovery of economic growth and revitalization of payments in the banking sector, Financial Times reported.

The amount in dividends (excluding special payments and adjusting for currency fluctuations) increased by 7.2% in April-June compared to the same period in 2016.

The growth rate was the highest since the end of 2015, according to the Janus Henderson Global Dividend Index.
