Renault-Nissan to create joint venture with China's Dongfeng Motor Group Co

The Renault-Nissan alliance will create a new joint venture in China with Dongfeng Motor Group to make electric cars in the world's biggest car market.

Nissan and Renault will each hold 25% of the new joint venture, the remaining 50% will be owned by Dongfeng.

The partners plan to produce a new EV based on a SUV platform at Dongfeng's plant in Shiyan in 2019.

Global investments into electric vehicles continue to grow, as car makers want their production to correspond with stricter emission and fuel-economy rules.
