Renault-Nissan to launch 12 new electric vehicles by 2022

Carmaker Renault-Nissan in cooperation with Mitsubishi Motors Corp. is planning to introduce 12 all-electric vehicles by 2022.

Alliance intends to increase annual sales to $240 billion and to sell 14 million cars a year by 2022, its chairman Carlos Ghosn said. Alliance is aiming to establish the companies as leaders in the next-generation electric cars production.

According to Ghosn, 20 percent of all sold cars by 2022 to be electric. Currently, Renault-Nissan is the world’s largest carmaker with 5.27 million cars and vans delivered, ahead of Volkswagen and Toyota.
