Review: Asian shares scale 10-year peak on global economy strength

Asian shares jumped to a 10-year peak on Tuesday due to growing corporate earnings and an improving global economy.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares leaped 0.8 percent to a new decade-peak.

Japan's Nikkei gained 0.7 percent, while South Korea's KOSPI ticked up 0.1 percent and Australian stocks rose 0.3 percent.

Shanghai .SSEC advanced 0.5 percent and Hong Kong's Hang Seng soared 1.3 percent.
