Review: Asian stocks climb after four-day decline

Asian stocks edged higher on Thursday despite Wall Street fall.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares climbed 0.6 percent.

Japan's Nikkei shrugged off early declines and soared 1.5 percent.

Australian shares rose 0.3 percent and South Korea’s Kospi index jumped 0.5 percent.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.4 percent, while the Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.2 percent.
