Review: Asian stocks climb on strength in U.S. corporate earnings

Asian stocks advanced on Friday as investors were inspired by upbeat earnings in U.S. corporate sector.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares was up 0.3 percent.

Japan's Nikkei N225 jumped 0.9 percent.

South Korea’s Kospi index rose 0.6 percent, while Australian shares eased about 0.6 percent.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index surged 0.9 percent, while the Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.3 percent.
