Review: Asian stocks retreat on political tension

Asian stocks pulled back on Wednesday as relationship between U.S. and North Korea has noticeably worsened in recent days.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares slumped 0.5 percent, while Japan's Nikkei slid 1.3 percent as the firm yen weighed on investor mood.

Australian shares rose 0.4 percent.

The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong dipped 0.3 percent and China’s Shanghai Composite Index sank 0.2 percent.
