Review: Asian stocks wobble near highs

Asian shares were mixed in early trade on Wednesday as China’s Communist Party Congress began.

China's blue-chip CSI300 index rose 0.5 percent, while Shanghai stocks increased 0.3 percent.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares was firm near its top since late 2007.

Japan's Nikkei inched up 0.2 percent, on track for a 12th straight session of gains.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 500 Index rose 0.1 percent, while South Korea’s Kospi index dipped 0.1 percent.
