Review: Cautiousness declines in Asia as yen falls

Caution during trading sessions in the U.S. did not spread to Asia, as the yen weakened and shares rose.

The Japanese Nikkei climbed 0.8%, helped by a slight easing of the yen. The Japanese currency lost 0.4% to 111.37 per dollar after eight days of growth.

The Australian S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.8%, while the Kospi index in South Korea lost 0.2%. The Hang Seng Index fell by 0.2%.
