Review: Dollar advances widely as yields support

The dollar inched higher on Monday as last week’s surge in U.S. bond yields boosted the greenback.

The dollar index climbed 0.25 percent to 94.617 after a 6-basis-point increase in long-term U.S. Treasury yields on Friday.

The pound dropped 0.7 percent to $1.3087, sliding away from an eight-day high of $1.3229 touched on Friday on strong UK industry data.
