Review: Dollar heads for its best week in 2017

The dollar was set for its best week so far this year in early trading on Friday.

The dollar index inched up 0.18 percent to 93.250, heading for a weekly rise of 1.17 percent.

The greenback was also poised for its third week of gains against the Japanese yen at 112.66, retreating from a high of 113.26.

The euro fluctuated at $1.1776, having recovered from a six-week low of $1.1715, but was still losing 1.5 percent for the week so far.
