Review: Dollar index extends gains on robust demand for U.S. durable goods

The dollar held its gains on Wednesday against a basket of major currencies as orders for U.S.-made capital goods increased for a second month in row in September, above analyst forecast.

At 8:40 a.m. (1240 GMT), the dollar index .DXY inched up 0.1 percent to 93.868.
