Review: Dollar jumps to three-month peak vs yen as Abe party wins election

The dollar reached a three-month peak versus the yen on Monday, following Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s big victory in Sunday’s election.

The greenback advanced as much as half a percent to touch 114.10 yen after the results, its highest since July 11.

The dollar index hit a 2-1/2-week high at 93.70 .DXY.

The euro lost 0.3 percent to $1.1754, having slumped 0.6 percent on Friday.
