Review: Dollar moves slightly higher

The U.S. dollar strengthened against the basket of major currencies at the beginning of the European trade session on Tuesday, still remaining below the December and January highs after two weeks during which the expectations for a rise in U.S. interest rates in March have risen sharply.

The dollar index inched up less than 0.1% to 101.70.

Against the pound sterling the greenback rose by 0.2% to $1.2211, against the euro - to $1.0580.
