Review: Dollar retains gains on Friday

The dollar touched a seven-week high on Friday supported by comments from Federal Reserve that the U.S. economy is robust enough to stand higher interest rates.

The dollar index was up 0.1 percent at 94.057 .DXY after increasing to 94.112, its top since Aug. 16.

The greenback rose 0.15 percent to 112.990 yen to move towards a two-month high of 113.260 reached last week.

The euro fell to a two-month trough of $1.1686, on track to end the week 1 percent lower.
