Review: Dow and S&P 500 to open slightly higher

The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average looked set to open slightly higher on Friday after consumer spending data for May showed sustained economic growth in the second quarter.

Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 34 points, while the S&P index shows growth 3 points, Nasdaq down 5.5 points.

U.S. consumer spending rose slightly in May while inflation subsides, indicating to a slow but steady economic growth that could lead the Federal Reserve to increase interest rates before the end of the year.
