Review: Euro at one-week peak despite uncertainty in Spain

The euro surged to a one-week peak on Thursday as investors focused on political turmoil in Spain.

The common currency jumped 0.4 percent to $1.1837, its top in a week.

Spain’s central government has threatened to suspend Catalonia’s autonomy if its leader does not refuse to declare independence of the region.
