The euro rose to a 2-1/2-year peak versus the dollar on Monday after the ECB President Mario Draghi did not stress the single currency strength, speaking at the Jackson Hole conference.
The euro climbed to $1.1924 after touching $1.1966, its highest level since January 2015.
The dollar index slumped 0.25 percent against a basket of its major rivals to 92.501.
The greenback slid 0.2 percent against yen to 109.175.
Sterling slipped 0.1 percent to $1.2884.
