Review: European stocks tick up despite Brexit process

European stocks inched higher on Wednesday as Britain oficially begins departure from the European Union it entered in 1973.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index added 0.1 percent by 1000 GMT.

Merger negotiations between London and Frankfurt stock exchanges were put on hold today after European regulators officially blocked the $30 billion proposed deal.
