Review: Nikkei rose on weakened yen

The Japanese Nikkei grew on Monday as comments from the Federal Reserve System contributed to dollar's rise against the yen, supporting the shares of exporters, while increasing U.S. yields helped financial stocks to demonstrate the leading dynamics.

The Nikkei added 0.7% to 18,797.88, rebounding from the four-month low shown on Friday.

The broader Topix also climbed up 0.7% to 1,499.65, boosted by 1.5 percent profit in banking sector.
