Review: Pound climbs on robust UK GDP growth

The pound rose almost half a cent versus the greenback on Wednesday after data showed the U.K. economy increased by 0.4 percent in the third quarter of this year.

Sterling jumped 0.3 percent on the day to $1.3171 after the figures.

Against the euro, the British currency also edged up 0.3 percent to 89.37 pence.
