Review: Pound falls to two-week trough as BOE doubts increase

Sterling slumped to a two-week low on Friday amid rising doubts about further rate hikes and political uncertainty.

The British currency dipped to $1.3122 versus the dollar, its trough since Oct. 9, poised to end the week more than 1 percent lower.

Although first 25 basis-point interest rate hike by the Bank of England on Nov. 2 is still considered as likely, investors remain cautious.
