Review: Pound flat amid strong retail sales data

The pound rose slightly on Thursday as investors virtually ignored scarcely stronger-than-predicted retail sales data, focusing on political uncertainty over Brexit.

The British currency inched up to $1.3186, having traded this month betwwen levels of $1.30 - $1.32.

Versus the euro, it edged 0.2 percent higher to 89.23 pence, still close to Wednesday’s low of 90.14 pence.
