Review: Pound rises as investors wait for strong UK data

The pound inched up on Monday, as investors expected fresh economic data this week would put the Bank of England on course for a rate increase by the end of the 2017.

Sterling was up 0.1 percent at $1.3296, near a trading range of $1.3270 to $1.3310.

It touched a 12-day peak of 88.57 pence versus a broadly weaker euro.
