Review: Pound slides on weak UK construction sector

Sterling dipped on Tuesday as activity in the UK’s construction sector slowed to a 14-month low in September.

The pound slumped to as low as $1.3245 after the IHS Markit/CIPS purchasing managers' index (PMI) tumbled from 51.1 to 48.1.

It also eased to the day’s trough of 88.64 pence per euro.
