Review: Pound touches six-week peak despite slashed growth forecast

The pound jumped to a six-week peak versus the dollar on Thursday, with investors largely shrugging off revised growth and productivity forecasts.

The British currency rose as high as $1.3337 in Asian trading, its top since Oct. 13, before sliding to trade at $1.3305.

Versus the euro, sterling dipped 0.3 percent to 89.00 pence.
