Review: U.S. stocks close lower despite Trump's tax reform plan

U.S. stocks markets closed with a slight decline on Wednesday, losing height in the last minutes of trading after the long-awaited announcement of an ambitious tax package of measures by President Donald Trump.

The Dow Jones was 0.1% lower, at 20.975.09 points, the S&P 500 dropped less than 0.1% to 2.387.45, while the Nasdaq Composite, which hit a new intraday record at 6 040.89 before declining, finished slightly lower, at 6,025.23.
