U.S. stocks indexes rose in early trading on Thursday after two days of declines, boosted by solid earnings from Wal-Mart and Cisco.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 0.5 percent, to 23,388.48. The S&P 500 advanced 0.39 percent, to 2,574.6. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.55 percent, to 6,743.15.
