Review: U.S. stocks rise as energy shares bounced

The U.S. stock market coped with weakness and rose slightly on Tuesday as energy shares recovered in line with oil prices. But investors sentiments remained prudent before the summit on Thursday between President Donald Trump and his Chinese peer Xi Jinping.

The Dow Jones rose by 0.19%, to 20 689.24. The S&P 500 added 0.06% to 2 360.16, while the Nasdaq was up 0.07% at 5,898.61.

Market also is in expectation of a report on employment in the U.S. on Friday.
