Review: U.S. stocks slide amid Russia investigation

U.S. stocks inched lower in early trade on Monday, retreating from an impressive rally last week, as investors assessed the 12 charges brought against Paul Manafort, a former campaign manager for Trump, in connection with a probe into alleged Russian meddling in the U.S. 2016 election.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average slumped 0.2%, to 23,387. The S&P 500 also lost 0.2%, to 2,576. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.2% to 6,711.35.
