Review: U.S. stocks weak at the opening; geopolitics and Trump's comments in focus

US stocks edged down at the open on Monday due to increasing geopolitical risks in Asia and President Donald Trump's statement that his predecessor Barack Obama wiretapped him.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index dipped 0.37% to 20.927.25 points, the S&P 500 eased 0.44% to 2.372.63 points, while the Nasdaq Composite fell by 0.43% to 5.845.72 points.
