Review: Yen gains on renewed tensions on Korean peninsula

The yen increased on Tuesday amid rising tensions on the Korean peninsula after North Korea declared it can shoot down U.S. warplanes.

The dollar lost 0.15 percent to 111.550 yen after reaching a peak of 112.530 on the previous session.

The dollar index was down at 92.573 .DXY after climbing 0.5 percent the previous day to a three-week peak of 92.724.

The euro edged up 0.1 percent to $1.1857, near $1.1832, its trough since Aug. 31.
