Russia has no plans to join the Organization of the countries of oil producers and exporters (OPEC), Energy Minister Alexander Novak said during a speech at the CERAWeek energy conference.
For the moment the question of Russia's accession to OPEC is not considered, according to Novak. At the same time, the Russian minister stressed the importance of cooperation with OPEC.
In turn, the Secretary General of OPEC, Mohammed Barkindo, said that the cartel has enough interaction and support from Russia.
On November 30 OPEC agreed to cut production by 1.2 million barrels per day from the October level.
