Sterling slumps on Brexit-related worries

Sterling slid from a two-month peak versus the dollar on Tuesday as Brexit-related concerns began to put pressure on the British currency.

The pound traded below $1.33 and was unchanged versus the euro and the yen at 0.8989 pence per euro and 148 yen respectively.

The Irish border has become the main barrier in the UK's plan to withdraw from the European Union as bloc urged Prime Minister Theresa May to come up with a plan on this issue until next Monday.
