Tesco PLC said Thursday that they asked the British competition regulator to expedite consideration of company’s request for acquisition of food wholesaler Booker Group PLC.
In January, Tesco has agreed to purchase Booker Group for £3.7 billion ($4,76 billion), and it was an unexpected move that could bring considerable savings for the supermarket operator. The competition regulator is currently undertaking the first stage of its investigation into this deal.
