Tesla addresses partnering companies asking for cash back to show profit

Tesla company has called on its suppliers to return some of the money that the manufacturer has paid before, as the carmaker is trying to uphold operations in a hard period.

The firm requested cash back from its partners to allow it to be profitable, as shows a memo sent to one of suppliers and analyzed by The Wall Street Journal.

The electric car producer asked the supplier to refund a meaningful part of Tesla’s payments since 2016, according to the memo. It is crucial for further functioning of Tesla and is an investment to ensure growth for both firms in the long run, the memo also said.
