Trump initiates investigation into China's trade practices

U.S. President Donald Trump authorized a trade investigation of China’s intellectual property policies. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer will investigate China's alleged theft of intellectual property.

China believes that this step may damage the trade and economic relations between two states.

If the U.S. do not take into account the basic rules of multilateral trade and apply measures that undermine bilateral trade and economic relations, China will take action to defend its interests, the Ministry of Commerce said.
