U.S. dollar at the strongest level against yen, propped up by U.S. Treasury yields

The U.S. dollar inched up versus the yen today, attaining its highest in four months, as growth in U.S. Treasury yields, prompting better prospects for the globe’s leading economy and probably additional rate hikes, pushed it upwards.

The dollar’s upper mark was 111.005 yen, the highest notch since January 23, though later it slipped to 110.92 yen, showing 0.1% growth.

The dollar’s index versus a basket of six main currencies kept near 93.467, just a bit short of 93.632, the record high of five months reached back in the week.
