U.S. Fed signals of rarer rate hikes onwards

The Fed’s Jerome Powell yesterday said that the current policy rate is a little lower than the level, according to estimates, having no inhibiting or accelerating effect on economic growth of the United States, a message that most investors like to hear, implying that the central bank’s tightening measures of last three years might be ending.

That was a turnaround from the statements of the start of October, with the key interest rate said to be remote from the level causing no impact, therefore the Fed was projected to possibly tighten its policy more.
