U.S. home prices increase more than expected

U.S. home prices increased steadily in July, supported by impressive demand.

The Standard & Poor's CoreLogic Case-Shiller national home price index climbed 5.9 percent from June's 5.8 percent.

Home prices may continue to advance in coming months after hurricanes Harvey and Irma led to decline in housing supply in parts of Texas and Florida.
