U.S. job growth speeds up, unemployment rate drops to 4.1 percent

U.S. job growth gained pace in October, adding 261,000 jobs, the Labor Department reported on Friday.

The jobless rate edged down to 4.1%.

In September the U.S. economy lost 30,000 jobs – the first drop in seven years – as hurricanes Harvey and Irma retained staff recruitment in Texas and Florida.
