Uber will not operate in London from 30 September

Uber loses its license to operate in London due to decision of Transport for London, which said the company is not a “fit and proper” private car hire operator.

Uber will challenge this decision in the courts - the company has 21 days to appeal, while current license expires on 30 September.

According to the mayor of London, all companies have to “play by the rules”.
