UK and EU reach deal on Brexit

After the meeting in Brussels between European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, and British Prime Minister Theresa May, a compromise was reached in the first phase of negotiations on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (EU).

The progress on Brexit has been achieved on three topics: mutual protection of the rights of citizens, the Irish border and compensation for withdrawal from the EU, European Commission website reported.

Jean-Claude Juncker clarified at a press conference that the EU has made its priority the protection of the results of settlement agreements in Northern Ireland.
